The Aquila Hills Discovery Kit is more than a packet of seeds. Each month, we explore one Australian native species through our philosophy:

Grow • Learn • Connect

Combining hands-on experience, science, reading and learning, creativity, and closer observation of the natural world.

Our January species is Tick Bush, Kunzea ambigua — a hardy Australian native shrub with fine, aromatic foliage and masses of delicate white flowers. When in flower, its small blossoms can cover the branches, attracting insects and bringing life to the garden. Its fragrant leaves and profusion of flowers make it a fascinating species to grow, observe and discover, while offering an opportunity to explore the relationships between native plants and the insects that visit them. Another beautiful cut flower with a long vase life, like many Australian native.
